Safety and Compliance Engineer

Energy Impact Center is seeking a Safety and Compliance Engineer to support the development, implementation, and execution of safety processes and policies which directly contribute to the continual improvement of a power plant control system. 

The Safety and Compliance Engineer will work collaboratively and creatively with the entire engineering team and report to the Vice President of engineering.

Full Time | Atlanta, GA office

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Author, review and/or edit procedures and technical documents to support regulatory filings

  • Develop safety case assessment and recommendations

  • Support the development of the processes and records associated with Safety Case assessments and related recommendations and reports

  • Engage stakeholders in technical discussions to support safety case assessment

  • Perform regular reviews of P&IDs, Drawings, PFDs, and Electrical One-Lines , SOPs, and related documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner, and implementing corrective actions to improve the execution/review process

  • Prepare compliance documentation for international regulatory bodies 


  • 10+ years of experience engineering design and development processes

  • Experience in conventional power, chemical process plant, or oil and gas 

  • Engineering Degree 

  • Experience in writing technical documentation including hazard analysis, safety analysis, O&M Manuals, Engineering Procedures, etc. 

  • Reliability Analysis Experience 

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams 

  • Ability to build relationships across multiple disciplines
