Content Engineer

Job Description

The Energy Impact Center is seeking a Content Engineer to design and edit audio files, videos, and web content, write copy, and manage digital assets for Titans of Nuclear and Energy Impact Center.  The right candidate should have exceptional experience in producing, editing, distributing and managing creative content to expand brand awareness and shape and guide media operations from the ground up. This is a high-energy, collaborative and deadline driven environment with creative professionals and engineers.​You’ll work with the Director of Marketing to plan and strategize content and editorial approach.

 

Position will be 40+ hrs a week located in Washington, D.C.

 

THE JOB

  • Editorial ideation, production and management of all content including podcasts, speeches and special projects, editing and mixing audio and video, designing web content, digital distribution, and data analytics to track progress. Responsible for quality control of all content including editing notes and writing copy 

  • Mine target audience data to inform future marketing strategies and identify prospective audience groups, then develop methods for outreach that use SEO principles to maximize brand engagement

  • Persuade various audiences, through media, of the importance of nuclear energy in the environmental, political and societal landscape 

  • Work collaboratively and creatively with the content team to develop messaging that is both credible and compelling 

  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned


 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Masterful audio/video-editing with an expertise in Adobe Suite including relevant plug-ins, Wix, Youtube, and  Libsyn as well as Apple OS, G-Suite, and related software   

  • Excellent writing with an ability to tightly proofread and edit copy combined with media skills, story sense, and production ability

  • Experienced in the different marketing channels (email, social, advertising) and can craft messages that resonate with target audiences on those platforms

  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and a track record of turning around content on a tight deadline

  • Efficiency and grace under tight deadlines


 

BACKGROUND:

  • Trained in marketing or communications with a deep interest in science & technology

  • 5+ years of audio/video editing, copywriting, marketing and communications experience
