Communications Associate

The Energy Impact Center (EIC) seeks a Communications Associate to support the Managing Director and his external communications. This role includes executive communications and logistical support. This position will provide project support and requires the ability to manage multiple deadlines, all while exercising the highest level of professionalism and discretion.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director and works collaboratively with the EIC team in DC. 

 

Full-Time | Washington, D.C.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage communications on behalf of the Managing Director, exercising sound judgment and thorough understanding of his voice

  • Optimize the Managing Director’s calendar for the most efficient workflow, and be available for real-time troubleshooting

  • Support technical needs of meetings and events

  • Coordinate and arrange meetings, reference agendas, and properly archive notes

  • Attend meetings when requested to take minutes and ensure follow-through on discussed items 

  • Coordinate and communicate itineraries among EIC travelers, ensuring minute-by-minute flow for all travel/meeting arrangements while traveling

  • Liaison to other stakeholders, relaying timely/critical information to and from team members

  • Distribute appropriate communications to appropriate personnel using good judgment and discretion in communicating sensitive information

  • Provide routine notifications to several key business partners

  • Provide administrative support to the Managing Director and serve as an integral member of the wider EIC team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Strong command of Google Suite, including but not limited to Google Sheets and Google Slides

  • Familiarity with and ability to navigate the policies, procedures, and lines of communication between relevant agencies, offices, and other groups

  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, in an effective manner to the intended audience

  • Critical thinker, ability to creatively solve problems, deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced changing environment
