Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Energy Impact Center is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with an interest in advanced power plant technology to work on the design of OPEN100

This position is full time and located in our Atlanta, GA office. 

THE JOB:

  • Perform structural engineering analysis and design, static and dynamic analysis/qualification of complex power plant structures, and development of engineering design modules 

  • Provide Civil/Structural Engineering support in the delivery of near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of nuclear structures

  • Evaluation of design constructibility of large-scale structures and their connections to meet ASME Section III, Division 2, Subsection CC, ACI-349, AISC-N690 and AWS requirements

  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:​​​​​

  • Robust knowledge of TI and BOP systems analyses and design

  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

  • Thermal / Thermodynamics / Structural Analysis experience

  • Working knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements

  • Working knowledge of ANSYS or other FEA computer software

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-15 years of experience as a Civil / Structural engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
